  1. Where do you find your design inspiration?
I gravitate toward earth tones and natural fibers, so spending time in nature is a great source of inspiration. I also like to cultivate inspiration by attending performing arts performances and visiting art galleries.
  2. Favorite part of life/what makes you happy?
Research shows that engaging the senses and trying or seeing something new makes humans feel inspired, joyful, energetic, motivated and grateful. I concur, experiences that rise above the routine are the very best of living!
  3. What's in your iTunes/Spotify/CD player?
I am a big fan of XM radio. My favorite channels are The Spectrum, Bluesville, 1st Wave, Classic Vinyl, and XMFLY.
  4. You're all creative and offer a unique perspective on what makes a space work and flow. What would you share as your best tip -- or general words of wisdom?
Whether designing home or office, be authentic. At home, surround yourself with the things and colors that make you feel best. Office design is an excellent way to communicate your brand, and any business that is able to should take advantage of such an opportunity. Before starting a project, I think it is important to ask yourself the big questions about the identity of your business and the vision for its future.
  5. What's your favorite room in the house?
In my house, the living room / family room is my favorite, because it’s the best place to get comfortable and relax while also being central to the home, and all of its activity. My typical seat in that room allows for a nearly complete view of the first floor and stairways, so I can be there and take it all in.

  1. Where do you find your design inspiration?
I find inspiration in everyday objects and places, art, geometry, history, product design and fashion. Drawing unexpected connections across these areas helps me create unique, highly personalized solutions for my clients.
  2. Favorite part of life/what makes you happy?
I love painting with my son and daughter. Their minds are uninhibited and they're not afraid to take risks. I strive to think more like they do. Picasso said, "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child."
  3. Side pursuits / hobbies you enjoy that relate to your craft (or not!)
I'm always trying new creative endeavors to keep my artistic side nimble. Right now I love letterpress, printmaking, and take a weekly pottery class.
  4. You're all creative and offer a unique perspective on what makes a space work and flow . What would you share as your best tip -- or general words of wisdom?
Interior design is about creating experiences. The best designs connect people to place, engaging all of their senses in a way that is memorable, not just decorative.
  5. Favorite field trip that feeds into your sense of design?
MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in NY
  6. What's your favorite room in the house?
My dining room. It houses some of my modern favorites and vintage treasures (including Herman Miller dining chairs).

Centerpoint Genius

  1. CenterPoint Genius sounds like an interesting and unique position. What do you enjoy most about your workday and what are your favorite Genius skills to put into use?
I wear a lot of different hats here at CenterPoint West, which makes my days go by pretty fast. The best part of my job is welcoming new visitors into our building and seeing how impressed they are with our facility. My favorite "genius" skills are talking core equipment and demo-ing scanners.
  2. Favorite part of life/what makes you happy?
I lived my whole life in the Midwest, but was given the opportunity to come to work for Benco in southern California. The beach is definitely my happy place. I try never to go a full week without going to the beach. Fortunately, I can now look out my window and catch a peek of it every day.
  3. What's in your iTunes/Spotify/CD player?
Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Sam Smith
  4. Side pursuits / hobbies you enjoy that relate to your profession (or not!)

A quote by Gandhi is my favorite: "Be the change you wish to see in the world". I try to live this each and every day of my life.
