Disinfecting Wipes: The Shortage Is Everywhere
If customers are asking why Benco is out of stock on wipes, the answer is simple: everyone, everywhere is experiencing severe shortages.
The bad news…
Despite manufacturers doing everything they can to increase production, Clorox (for example) reports that demand has spiked by a whopping 500%. They’re running their plants 24/7, but it will still be some time before supply catches up with demand. A shortage of materials like substrate (the towels wipes are made from) and cannisters are also causing a bottleneck. This is a global issue as reported by CNN, Good Morning America, and countless other media outlets.
The good news…
While we’ve reduced our allocation of wipes, we’ve been able to increase our allocation of disinfecting liquid. Customers don’t really “need” wipes, they just like the convenience, and we can sell them liquid and dry towels in the meantime until wipe availability improves. For example, the same solution in CaviWipes is available separately in CaviCide spray bottles and gallon refills.
See the attached sell sheet showing customers how to start using this alternative to wipes…it’s as easy as 1-2-3 and as simple as spray and wipe.

Also, if customers who are used to ordering wipes aren’t sure how much liquid to order instead, use this chart as a rule of thumb to help them.
Unfortunately, this issue with shortage is completely out of our control, and substituting disinfecting liquid and dry towels is a good way to keep the orders coming in and customers happy for now. AND we are continuing to work with new vendors like Toppen(Dolfinpods) to bring in alternative disinfecting products for our customers.
