Dr. Yanez-Regonesi

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Yanez-Regonesi received her dental degree (DDS) from Pontificia Universidad Catolica, in Santiago, Chile. She worked for two years in private practice before moving to Kentucky. She completed a three-year Master’s program in Orofacial Pain at the University of Kentucky (2017-2020). Her master project evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of a portable device for sleep bruxism. She obtained a grant from the AAOP for her research. Dr. Yanez-Regonesi obtained board certification in orofacial pain in 2020, and joined the faculty at UK at the Division OFP in 2020, where she is the clinic director.

Course Description:

This course is geared toward helping the dentist and their team manage their patients with the ever increasing sleep issues that plaques our society. Learn how to manage patients and gain the knowledge of how sleep issues need both medical and dental perspectives.

Course Objectives:

• Recognize signs and symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea.
• Describe the role of dentists in screening sleep breathing disorders.
• Describe the role of dentists in the management of obstructive sleep apnea.
