Course Description:

During the commotion of 2020, no one was thinking about the security of their information; dental practices all across America and much of the globe assumed their data was safe.

In an increasingly virtual world, it is important to realize that anyone’s information is vulnerable to cyber-attacks. How can you protect yourself and your practice from such attacks? The global shutdown during 2020 due to the Coronavirus left patient information unprotected and vulnerable to hackers, and dental offices across the nation were attacked. Millions of individuals’ information was stolen, whether personal or health related, and many times held for ransom. Becoming more aware of the types of attacks and their consequences could protect your practice and your patients’ privacy. It is incredibly important to protect not only your own information, but also your patients’, so that you are not victim of a cyber-attack like many other businesses during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Protect yourself, your patients, and your practice by learning more about cybersecurity and how to implement better information protection.

Course Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of current cyber threats
